Corrective exercise structured around training, recovery and competition.
Corrective Exercise Specialist and wellness consultant. Founder of EPFfitness LLC, Raleigh, North Carolina.
I started in personal training, and the pattern showed up fast: clients would get better, then come back six weeks later with the same complaint. The program wasn't the problem. The assessment underneath it was.
So I went deeper: corrective exercise, movement assessment, and years of working shoulder-to-shoulder with clinical practitioners. Physical therapists, massage therapists, chiropractors and holistic providers all knew things their clients never quite managed to apply. That space between the treatment room and real life is where EPFfitness LLC lives.
Over the last ten years that work has taken me across the country, collaborating with fitness, wellness and holistic professionals. It all points the same direction: guide people to the specific action steps that get them the wellness lifestyle they actually want.
“Before we fix how you move, we discover what you're working with.”
Fitness, medicine and holistic practice each hold a piece of the picture, and they don't always translate well to one another, or to the person in the middle trying to follow three sets of instructions.
My work is collaborative on purpose: bridging those fundamental gaps and correcting the misunderstandings between concentrations, so a client gets one coherent plan instead of three competing ones.
In a warm-up area there is no treatment table, no hour to work with and no second attempt. Assessment has to be fast, the intervention has to be reversible, and whatever gets done has to hold up in the next round.
The athletes range from masters competitors to international level. The constraint is the same either way, and it is the best training there is for deciding quickly what actually matters.
National Academy of Sports Medicine. Assessment-led programming for movement dysfunction and compensation patterns.
As former Director of Rehabilitation, programmed progressive care for practice members and coordinated a rehabilitation team that included massage therapists, personal trainers, physical therapists and corrective exercise specialists. Commercial fitness leadership, continuing education for training staff, wellness classes and corrective exercise programming for the active aging demographic, plus community outreach and special-case management.
Certification is the floor, not the ceiling. Most of what shows up in a session comes from coursework taken since: screening, corrective strategy, and the specific populations this practice serves.

The first conversation is just that. A conversation.
